EURO16 – TV Coverage: BBC

EURO16 is coming and every game will be covered live on terrestrial TV in the UK this June. Find out what TV channel will be covering those games you’ve already earmarked as essential viewing.

All matches will kick-off at very sensible times if your viewing in the UK – 2pm, 5pm or 8pm. The UK TV coverage listing can be found at the end of this article.

In the UK live coverage of the European Championships 2016 from France will be equally covered by the BBC and ITV. Football fans on our shores are used to this set-up by now and many have their favourite channel and presenters. Here, in the first of a two part article we cover off just what the Beeb say they will be offering during this Summer’s footballing jamboree.

The smooth talking, unflappable, housewives favourite, Gary Lineker will be the anchor of the Beeb’s coverage from France. He’ll be joined in the studio by two former England Captains, Rio Ferdinand and Alan Shearer as well as France’s World Cup Winner (1998) Thierry Henry.

The continental flair will be provided by TV and Radio appearances for Gianluca Vialli and Jens Lehmann. The competing home nation camps will be infiltrated by Gabby Logan (England), Stephen Watson (Northern Ireland) and Jason Mohammad (Wales).

Dylan Ebenezer and Nic Parri will lead presentation duties for BBC Wales on S4C, while Stephen Watson and Michael McNamee will be at the helm on BBC Northern Ireland.

“As excitement builds towards one of the most anticipated sporting events of 2016, we are delighted to bring audiences closer to the heart of the action than ever before with unparalleled coverage across TV, radio and enhanced personalised options across our digital services available 24/7.”
