2016/17 – Game 02 – Round 05: Can Darren Continue His March?

Darren has built himself a five point lead at the top of the table, despite securing no exact  predictions last time out. It’s a three day weekend ahead for Round 05…

Saturday

The action kicks-off on Saturday lunchtime at The Emirates Stadium when Arsenal host Hull City, who will be hoping to keep a third clean sheet in-a-row for the first time since October 2008 – pretty unlikely I reckon!

Just five matches at 3 o’clock on Saturday, including Man Utd v Watford where Zlatan and Pogba will continue their devastating partnership – they have created 27 chances for each other so far this season – more than any other pairing in the Premier League.

The teatime match will pit Liverpool and Tottenham against each other. This fixture has produced more own goals (nine) in the Premier League than any other.

“They are not on a good run but Liverpool have very good players – for me it’s one of the best squads, not only in England but in Europe.”

Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham Manager on Liverpool v Tottenham

Sunday and Monday

Just two matches on Sunday again this weekend, starting with the lunchtime kick-off when Burnley host league leaders Chelsea at Turf Moor. Burnley have never won a Premier League encounter with Chelsea (D1 L4).

The late afternoon kick-off is a crucial relegation battle. Swansea and Leicester are equal on points, with recent meetings between the two resulting in Leicester wins (four-in-a-row to be exact!).

“The two teams are level on points and will not play each other again this season, so that adds an extra spice to the fixture.”

Paul Clement, Swansea Manager on Swansea v Leicester

On Monday Manchester City travel to the south coast to take on Bournemouth. All Premier League fixtures between these two sides have resulted in a City win, with Bournemouth scoring just one goal in those three matches (and conceding 11!).
