2017/18 – Game 02 – Round 16

The last day of the season is here and everything still appears to be up for grabs. All of the last matches will kick-off at 3pm on Sunday.

The only person who could claim any confidence in winning some prize money come 5pm on Sunday is Craig Ellis. He’s five points clear of Martin Hayman in second and a full ten points clear of fourth – prize money is paid up to third place at the top of the table.

The battle for second and third is far from sorted. Realistically I would say anyone of seven players could harbour hopes of a prize paying position, from Martin Hayman (118 pts) in second to Keith West in eighth (110 pts).

Don’t forget there’s also £32.40 to be collected by whoever finishes in tenth place. The combinations for who could chance upon that final position are pretty much unfathomable – but somebody will be winning that.

Any one of the current top six in the scrap for the final Player-of-the-Month prize will be hoping to scoop the £16.20 available for topping that table. David Mason is now top (44 pts) fending off the challenge from the two Hodgson’s – Ian has 42 points while Ian is slotted just in behind on 41.

Don’t forget you can take a look at the comprehensive Game Rules anytime you like to see just what rules are used to determine league positions.

18 points is how many you’ll need to score in the final round to take the One Round Wonder prize (£32.40) away from Cynthia West. The end of season finale is always trickier to predict when there’s not a lot for the Premier League clubs to play for, so maybe Cynth can be quietly confident of this one.
