Round 06: Review

It was an excellent Round for our newest player, Jeremy Wise, at the weekend. He scored a strong 15 points to displace Scott Valenti from the top of the One Round Wonder (£41.80) table. That haul also moved Jeremy into fourth place overall on 50 points, just two points from the top.

That player in top place overall is still Miles Chapman, but his lead has been halved from four points to just two. The worrying thing for Miles is that he’s not just being chased down by Jeremy, but also both Wests (Cynthia & Keith) and Gareth Bridges as they are all on 50 points.

Player of the Month: February

There are just six matches left in February to try and secure that prize (£20.90) – so that’s the Friday match and five on Saturday. Last month was the first time the Player of the Month was shared three ways – Gareth Bridges, Miles Chapman and Keith West. Realistically I don’t think any of those are in the hunt this time around.

Gary Alcroft and David Mason are in the box seats this time with 28 points a piece. The Winner of Game 01 this season, Martin Magookin (26 points), is pushing them hard despite spending most of the month in the US on holiday! Just behind Martin are three players who will all be hoping they can close that four point gap to top – Jason Brown, Cynth West and Darren Bellamy.

You can see the February Player of the Month table towards the bottom of this story.

Round 07: Preview

Some people might like to call it Friday Night Football, I prefer the name Surprise Match! You can pretty much guarantee at least one player will be caught out by the Friday evening kick-off (Norwich v Leicester, Sky Sports) and miss the 19:45 deadline.

There are five matches to look forward to on Saturday with the remaining two matches on Sunday, both at two o’clock. There are only eight Premier League matches this weekend, this is due to the League Cup Final on Sunday (Aston Villa v Man City, 16:30).

The Twenty Point Jackpot will be £64 for the next Round. If any player manages to score 20 points in a single Round, then they will win the jackpot amount. The jackpot will increase by £1 for each Round nobody manages this feat.
